My name is Sharon Muniandy, and I was born on 3rd August 1978 in Sungai Siput, Ipoh, Perak. I grew up in a humble family background, where financial limitations prevented me from pursuing higher education beyond Standard 6. Due to these circumstances, I began working at the age of 13 as a helper in a mini market to support my family. From a young age, I learned the values of hard work, perseverance, and resilience through the many challenges I faced.

At the age of 18, I joined a company as an operator, where I dedicated myself wholeheartedly to my work. Through years of commitment and determination, I successfully advanced to the position of supervisor. In 2003, through the guidance of a pastor, I relocated to Penang, where I worked for another three years as an operator in a local company.

In 2006, I began a new chapter in my life by joining a private school specializing in the education of children with mental disabilities. Initially, it was a great challenge for me, as I had no prior knowledge or experience in managing children with special needs, especially in handling their emotional, behavioral, and personal care needs. During that difficult period, I even considered resigning. However, through divine encouragement and the support of a well-wisher, I decided to persevere. Over time, I learned to embrace my work and developed a deep passion for caring for children with special needs.

While working at the school, I observed that many of the children came from families who struggled to afford the school fees, and some of the students were orphans. This realization deeply moved me. I felt a divine calling to establish a home that could provide care and shelter for individuals with disabilities, regardless of their financial background. This calling was later confirmed through prophecies and encouragement from two pastors, strengthening my conviction.

After several years of reflection, prayer, and preparation, I made a firm commitment to answer God’s calling. In April 2017, I officially founded a residential home for individuals with disabilities, known as Agape Home. My decision was also inspired by my personal experience caring for two disabled individuals who had previously been placed in a drug rehabilitation center due to having no place to stay. Seeing their pain, including bruises and burn marks, deeply touched my heart, and I decided to bring them into my home.

The early days of Agape Home were filled with trials. Just a few months after its establishment, in September 2017, the home was severely affected by a flood, which destroyed most of our belongings. The incident left me questioning and doubting whether I was truly walking in God’s purpose. However, through prayer and divine assurance, I realized that the setback was part of a greater plan. In fact, the flood became a turning point—more people came to know about Agape Home, and with their support, I was able to relocate to a new residence and continue expanding the home’s mission.

Today, Agape Home continues to grow and serve the community with love and compassion. We currently provide care and shelter to 14 individuals with disabilities, offering them not only a place to live but also a home filled with hope, dignity, and purpose.
